Thanks so much for sharing this interview. I appreciate the point Dionne made about doing something about it and making her dream a priority. Sometimes that can be one of the hardest things to do when you are considering all the personal factors. I look forward to getting her CD and hopefully being able to attest to a VIctory. I know her students well, and to know that one of them (basically) spurned her into gear is amazing! To hear that she took that first step (into Interstages), and then Interstages gave her the next steps is awesome in itself.

Wow! Our stories are so similar, but though I have not left my full-time job of teaching english, I have recently written and published my book. For my first time out on a spoken word set, it was amazing to see so many awesome performances and Dionne’s was one that resonated with the depths of my soul. After listening to Dionne’s cd, I have become inspired to participate in the next poetry set! Bless you Dionne!
